Cheers for God!
We celebrated communion, at church, last Sunday.
Our family always takes communion together.
This day was different. Jordan and I partook by ourselves.
Communion can be a solemn event sometimes. And there is a purpose for that. The shedding of blood for the atonement of our sins puts humanity into its proper perspective.
Jordan had a different take.
As we sat and listened to our pastor read scripture Jordan whispered, “Lets give cheers to God.”
Of course. Why didn’t I think of that? Yeah God!
The pastor finished.
We merrily clinked our little communion cups together, filled to the brim, with the love of Jesus, as revelers do bringing in a new year.
Only we celebrated something even greater. The very fact that we get to partake in the Supper of the Lamb is cause for celebration today and everyday!
Our cup runneth over.
Jordan had the last word.
With a grin on her face and a twinkle in her eye she whispered, “Cheers to God.”
Nobody could have said it better!
I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst. John 6:35
